I’m so old that I saw Nightmare on Elm Street (1 and 2) as a double feature in a drive in theater when I was in high school.  I miss drive in theaters, you could hang out with friends AND talk through the movie and no one would be shushing you.

I really didn’t intend to do a full on Freddy Kruger post, but all the elements came together for it.  It started off with the free gift I picked up from FLAME at the Shop&Hop, my Freddy sweatshirt.  It’s got rips and tears and is the perfect Halloween gift.  It’s sized for:

I started digging through my Shop&Hop folder to see if I had anything else that would go with it, and I discovered this cowboy hat from Wazzer Works.  Yes, we all know Freddy wore a fedora, but this hat is free and it’s close enough!  This is another unisex gift, it has a color hud and it’s resizeable.

Hey Fabs!   I’m gonna tell you a short story.  My Dad was a real creative guy, and a stoner, and so fun, but overall just zero idea about responsible parenting.  For that reason, I actually saw The Shining in the theater when I was oh, 8 years old maybe?  lol  He wanted to see it, apparently, and didn’t have a babysitter, I guess.  Welcome to my childhood.

Hi Fabs!  I’m pretty dialed in to wanting to do a Halloween post every day in October, but I know sometimes you guys want a break.  I’ve got a new group gift to show you that’s not haunted, but a few other little spooky things too.

Hi Fabs, hope you all had a great weekend!  It was raining outside IRL, so I stayed inside and hunted gifts in SL.  I actually thought it was going to take me all weekend to find these items, but thanks to help of area search it wasn’t all that bad.

Apropos

Is apropos that the lightning is striking behind me, I’m in a haunted graveyard after all.  Thankfully it won’t hurt me in SL, but I do live near the lightning capital of the U.S. so I’m pretty well versed on getting inside when the thunder rolls in.   There’s plenty of lightning and tons of other spooky stuff over at Haunted Labyrinth, along with shopping and hundreds of pumpkins priced 0L to 25L to find.

If you are very adept at area search this hunt isn’t ‘too’ bad, although I will say it’s helpful to know the name of the store owner you’re hunting.   I knew immediately I wanted to find every.single.thing. that Mug had in this hunt.  I love that store, and I support it every chance I get.  There’s 10 really nice items you can hunt from Mug!  I’m wearing 2 of them in this post:

Good morning Fab readers, happy Wednesday!  I was finally able to put together an autumn outfit (since it’s officially started) so I wandered around Pususaari feeling cute, and came across this skulk of foxes!  After I’m done taking this picture, we’re going to play a little hide, seek, chase.

Cozy season

My friend Phoebe blogged some of these items ages ago, and I’ve had them sitting in my inventory waiting for the right season and it’s finally upon us.  I’ve got 3 dollarbies on Marketplace that you might want for your cozy season wardrobe.

Hi Fabs, happy Tuesday!  I have a myriad of wonderful freebies for you today, but time is short, so I won’t ramble on!

Just in time

Just in time for Halloween, WINGS has put out new free group gifts for it’s members.  There’s a male and female style, and the female style is just perfect for witchy pictures.  It’s called gift 007 and you’ll get both hairstyles delivered when you touch the picture wearing the tag.  The WINGS group is free to join, so yay for free hair!  It’s a complete fatpack and I might have to shrink my head a little bit for this one (apropos for Halloween!)  The gifts there stay up forever, so don’t panic, no rush.

Hey Fabs!  It seems like the whole grid is in the mood for Halloween, so much so that the events are starting before October!  I was very excited to see that Pumpkin Palooza opened on Saturday, this is the annual hunt put together by LOVE Superstore with other participating desigers.

Daydream dressed like a nightmare

The Pumpkin Palooza Hunt is a little more than just a hunt.  First, there’s 14 doors you can knock on and get free Halloween gifts from LOVE.  You have to be very close to the door though.

Then you can go hunting!  There’s a giant graphic where you land that you touch for the hunt keys.  It comes in a notecard.  I spent some time debating and hunting and debating and hunting until I finally decided everything I wanted.  This is what I’m wearing from the hunt:

Hey Fabs!  It’s time, right?  Spooky time?  For me it’s never too early.  I’ve got some new swim shorts for Halloween, but you only have through Sunday to get them!

P.S.  I picked up this skelly a few weeks ago at [Since 1975], at the time it was a group gift.  The store is also undergoing a remodel, and perhaps [Since 1975] and [No Rush] are combining?  I’m not sure yet.  I don’t actually find [Since 1975] as a store right now, but would be worth checking back through October to see what’s happening with it.

I hope, if you’re a regular reader of the blog (and why shouldn’t you be?) that you have been to Yasum for her balloon dog hunt before.  It’s not so much a hunt, it’s a way that Azlyn gives back to the SL community.  When she pulls all her new releases out of events and moves them back into her store, she choses one color of each and sets it to sale for 1L.  It’s so generous.  It also makes me go back and buy fatpacks. lol  There are SIXTEEN different balloon dogs hovering near items this round, WOW!  You will need to find the NEW RELEASE room of her store to find them.  I had the hardest time choosing what to blog, because I loved too many of these.  Ultimately I chose this Josy romper and it’s just so darling.  Azlyn’s attention to detail is like no other.  This outfit comes rigged for:

OK so I realize that you can’t see the rain, since I ducked under this awning to avoid it, but Cherishville Autum is a beautiful rainy region right now, and if you visit you’ll see why I titled this post “Purple Rain”.

Rouh isn’t the only one who favors purple.  When I was a toddler, my Dad painted my walls lavender and my furniture dark purple, apparently at my request.   I was thrilled to see this new group gift from Just BECAUSE, it’s the perfect shade for me.  Just BECAUSE is a store group I learned about through their advent calendar a few years back.  Generally we get a fair amount of credit (which you can use on weekend sales) and some holiday clothing items in that calendar, and then a gift or two throughout the year.  This sweater is one of those gifts and it’s a keeper!
