Standing on Flatter Ground

Posted by tiffergg on May 11, 2008

While in Phil’s Place, I usually wear heels as much as I can. I love heels in both worlds and the fact that I don’t get virtual blisters makes me love them even more. However, every once in awhile it is fun to switch it up and wear flats. I decided to share with ya’ll my three favorite pair of flats-in no particular order ;)

The first pair of flats are the “Funny Girl” flats from Periquita. These have been blogged a few times before, but they are so great they deserved to be blogged again. The pointed toe on them is fabulous, and all the colors they come in are absolutely yummy. I have the red (pictured) and cyan, so far, but buying more colors is always a possibility!

The second pair of flats is the “Scultpted Ballet Flats” from Surf Co. These flats are simple and easy to dress up and down. They come with a set with buttons (pictured) or without.

The third and final pair of flats come from Veschi. They are simply named “Flats.” The best part about this particular pair of flats is that they are color changable. For one low price, you can have a pair of flats to go with every outfit.

While this post is about shoes, I just have to mention the dress pictured. While shopping in Big Booty Big Money the other day, I felt the urge to wonder. I usually don’t wonder because this often ends in impulse buys. This dress is one, but I love it! This dress is from DP Serendipity, which was a couple of doors down from BBBM. The dress is called “Ame-OdeKake” and the coloring is so much fun.

There you have it, three great choices for flats. If you feel like standing on some flatter ground, head on over to Periquita, Surf Co, or Veschi and get you a pair! Visit http://aliltherapy.wordpress.com/ for full photo credits.

Best and Worst of the Week

Posted by tiffergg on May 9, 2008

Hello all! Yet again, we are closing another week in good ‘ole Phil’s Place. And, yet again, I have picked a Best and a Worst of the Week. Why do I do this weekly post, you ask? Because…well, just because I want to.

The Best of the Week goes to Maitreya. I am in love love love with their new hair textures! I’ve been a fan of their shoes, but wasn’t too crazy about their hair. That is until this week! The new textures are pure perfection and look perfectly real. I want to reach into my computer screen and touch it. Also, the fact that they listen to their customers makes me like this brand even more. The “Loose Bun” was originally just used as a color demo. But, so many customers begged for it to be released as a style we could purchase, they did just that. And, all in about a weeks time. Great customer service and even better hair!

For the Worst of the Week, I am going to go with all the “witch hunting” that has been going on with the blogs. Is Minnu Model Skins ripping off textures? Is it wrong that the Juicy Shoes used the term “Stiletto Moody” in their key words under search? Is Cachet ripping off RL designers? Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah…The amount of drama on the boards this week has been exceptionaly high. While I do believe the consumer has a right to know what they are buying, I think it is extremely unfair to the creators that their names are being dragged through the mud before they can even comment on whether it is true or not. Am I going to comment on what I think about MMS’s “stealing” or Juicy being “unethical”? Nope. I’m just going to call all this “he-said-she-said” the Worst of the Week, post my little blog, and go back to buying what I like because I like it (and hope that everyone else does the same).

There you have it my Best and Worst of the Week. Take the link (http://aliltherapy.wordpress.com/) for the full photo credits and have a great weekend!

Go Snatch It Up

Posted by tiffergg on May 7, 2008

Only about a month into my blogging experience, I have slacked off. I realize that it is now half-way through the week, and I haven’t blogged about clothes once. It must be because I’m in between semesters at school and don’t have homework to avoid.

With that said, let me blog some clothes! Sn@tch recently announced that they were holding a model search for their upcoming Violent Nightmare Fashion Show. This led me to go through my inventory and head out to take some pics. I am a big fan of the store, as it brings out my inner-rock chic. Ivey Deschanel is creative and extremely generous, usually putting one outfit in her store for free every week. Between freebies and splurges, I have filled my inventory with a nice little chunk of Sn@tch hotness.

The first look is “Barfly in Fuscia.”This dress is extremely sexy, with it’s plunging neckline. The texture is perfection-the sparkles look fabulous. The skin I’m wearing is also from Sn@tch, and is the “Velvet Dramatic Merlot.” I love the lips on this skin and the dark dramatic eyes give me an escape from my “normal look.” The only thing I don’t like about the skin from Sn@tch is that they only comes in one skintone- I want more!

The second outfit is completely different from the first look, and most of the clothes in Sn@tch for the record. Most of the clothing in Sn@tch is dark, and this outfit is anything but. “The Socialite” was inspired by a magazine cover featuring Avril Lavigne. I love the pattern on the babydoll, and the fact that it is a little on the sheer side. The outfit also comes with three different colors of tights (blue, gold, and the pictured pink). I like these tights because of the sheen to them.

There you have it. Two great looks that Sn@tch has to offer. Now, go snatch some of it up and take the link for full photo credits (http://aliltherapy.wordpress.com/)!

Please, Just STFU. Please?

Posted by tiffergg on May 4, 2008

The fashion blogs have become a battle ground. Mean words are being thrown around fasting than I can spend a Linden ™. I’m a new blogger, and all this drama is making me doubt rather or not this is a world I want to be a part of. I live my life (my RL and Virtual) by one saying: IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY, DON’T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL. To put it plain and simple, and I do mean this as nice as possible, STFU! Let’s get back to the fashion!

Color Me Jeans!

Posted by tiffergg on May 4, 2008

With the arrival of Spring (in my part of the world, anyway), comes bursts of color in the fashion world. This year, that burst of color seems to be popular on our jeans. From the trend being seen in RL, on stars like Cameron Diaz, to fashionista’s across the grid, jeans in any color from the rainbow are a must have in your inventory. Here, I’m going to show you two of my favorite colorable jeans. The best part about them? Both were cheap!

The first pair of jeans are a pretty aqua color from Dernier Cri, and sell for 75L. They had a few more colors to choose from there, but the aqua jumped out at me the most. With the jeans, I paired a group gift from GiGi Couture. The shirt came with an adorable backpack, as well (not pictured). If you haven’t joined GiGi Couture’s group, and have a 1 of your 25 groups to spare, I highly recommend it. She is super kind to her group members!

The second pair of jeans are from Sh*t Happens (I love that store’s name!) and were even cheaper. These are their “Dark Green Jeans” and are currently on sale at their Lion’s Shore location for 30L. They come with different prim options to wear them as either skinny jeans or flare (If you can’t tell, I went with the skinny). I felt like adding even more splash of color to this look with the jacket and shoes. The jacket was a group gift from Surf Couture from awhile back, and comes attached with the tank underneath. The shoes are the “Classic Pumps in Banana” from Juicy.

Those are two pair of jeans that are sure to brighten your day! Be sure to check out Dernier Cri and Sh*t Happens for even more colorful options! And, as always, head on over to http://aliltherapy.wordpress.com/ for style sheets and store landmarks.

The Best and Worst of the Week

Posted by tiffergg on May 2, 2008

Another week, another post on my Best and Worst of the Week in Phil’s Place. This week, the flamingos have invaded Phil’s Place in full force, and have earned my vote for the Best. Many kudos go to The Cafe Society for this amazingly creative design challenge. And even more kudos to the designers that participated. The designs were out of this world! Tommorrow, The Cafe Society is throwing an all-day party to celebrate the closing of the Flamingo Challenge. At the party, you will be able to vote for your favorite designs.

I’m gonna go ahead and throw my vote out here-Ingenue’s “Flamingo Dream.” This dress is fabulous! I love the feathering on the skirt! If you are curious to see more designs AND learn a little more about the challenge, head on over to http://slcn.tv/. Whimsy Winx and Luicee Babii talked with Paisley Beebe on “Tonight Live” about how the challenge came about and some of us Gossip Girl’s (including me!) modeled some of the desings.

The Worst of the week is going to the closing of D!FF and the shopping centers Cotton Candy and CherryButtons. D!FF was a great shop, with tons of fun separates. Their designs were bright, fun, and different from the norm. They will greatly be missed! As for Cotton Candy and CherryButtons, from what I’ve read on the feeds and a notice from GiGi Couture (whose mainstore was at CherryButtons) the two shopping centers have switched owners. This has apparently caused tons of shop owners to pack up and leave. Rather these SIMs will ever reopen, I’m not sure. But, they will never be quiet the same.

Ok, that sums up my Best and Worst of the Week. Hop on over to http://aliltherapy.wordpress.com/ for full list of items pictured, as well as store URL’s.

Fool’s Gold

Posted by tiffergg on May 1, 2008

Annah Couture released her latest collection today, inspired by the movie “Fool’s Gold.” While I haven’t seen the movie, I learned from Annah and the fashion show that it takes place in the Bahamas. The setting really inspired Annah, and it transfered perfectly into a must-have summer collection. Most of the outfits go from beach to out on the town with adding just a couple of layers. I headed on over to the Bahamas, literally, to show off two of the looks from the collection that Annah was kind enough to give me.

This first outfit, “Gemma in Red,” was my favorite as soon as it stepped out onto the runway. I love the khaki overalls, and the color of the bikini is great. I also love that the bikini top is a tube. For a cute casual look, I paired the overalls and bikini with Juicy’s “Classic Pumps in Apple.”

The second outfit is “Tess in Red.” Included in the set is the adorable tankini (I love the bottoms! My bum looks perfect!) and two different colors of the denim shorts (pictured is the “washed;” the other color is “dark”). As usual, Annah gives you tons of layers and options. The detailing on the shorts is adorable, as well. On the back (I know, I didn’t take a pic of it!) is an “A” embroidered on the pocket.

Those are just two of the numerous looks Annah Couture released in her “Fool’s Gold” Collection. Head on over to her store to pick up all the summer essentials you could ever need! And, there was stuff for the guys, too!

For info on all the items pictured, as well as SLurl’s ™, head on over to http://aliltherapy.wordpress.com/. (note: I don’t have all the SLurl’s ™ up YET-that page is a work in progress!)

Peace, Love, and Clothes

Posted by tiffergg on April 30, 2008

For some reason, I’ve always had this strange fascination with hippies. What makes it strange is the fact that I have no flower children in my family, nor have I ever even met a hippie. But, ever since I was young, I’ve adored the era and it’s fashion. The hippie look has influenced RL fashion for awhile now, with cotton dresses and flowy skirts. Recently, it’s made a huge surge in Phil’s Place, as well. I decided to visit a hippie camp, hang out with some Deadheads, and show off my fave hippie looks.

The first look I chose was The Closet’s newest release, the “Multiple Border Dress.” This dress is short, sweet, and flowy. It comes in about 5 color choices, but I somehow managed to pick the blue. To complete the look, I paired it with simple sandals from Lassitude and Ennui and bangles from Magpie.

To really get into Spring, I jumped into Annah Couture’s “Annie.” This dress is actually part of a set, that comes with pants and TONS of layers. “Annie” was so popular that Annah Couture released an assortment of colors a few weeks back. I’m more of a fan of the original yellow, though. The green wedges from ETD finish off the look with another great pop of color.

Hands-down, the cutest tunic I’ve found in Phil’s Place is the “Eva Tunic” from MG Fashion. I love the fit of it! This dress comes in an assortment of colors, as well. I’m usually more of a neutral girl, and the white went perfect with my “Vixen Boots” from FD. I must also mention the hair here. It’s one of the newest releases from Cavendish called “Diana.” I’ve been looking for a great pony-tail for awhile, now, and this is it! It’s 200L per single color.

The last look, is a flowy skirt from Alchemy. The movement and detail of this skirt and belt is fantastic. The tank is included in the set, and comes in different lengths. This outfit was so simple, that to finish the look, the only accessory I needed was a peace-sign.

Those are four of my fave hippie looks that I’ve found in Phil’s Place. Take the link for full list of items pictured: http://aliltherapy.wordpress.com/

My Affair with Digit Darkes’

Posted by tiffergg on April 29, 2008

A little over 2 weeks after being born into Phil’s Place, a friend gave me a gift card to Digit Darkes’. When I entered the store, I was immediately in complete awe. The shoes! The dresses! The skirts! The pants! I was instantly in love, and spent forever trying to figure out the outfit to get with my gift card. The only problem was, I was clueless as to how to actually use a gift card.

Other than the wonderful designs, Sasy S. makes Digit Darkes’ the greatest shopping experience. She walked me step by step through the gift card purchase with no attitude or annoyance of having to deal with another noob. Since that first experience, any issues caused by Messiah Phil, Sasy has been there to immediately take care of the issue. Last week, she was even nice enough to drop the new “Affair Slip Dress” on me. This dress is hot! It is an ultra-mini, and the lace detailing is perfection. I decided to model it in the window of Digit Darkes’, along with the other not-as-sexy mannequins.

Digit Darkes’ has recently ventured into skins. I had fought the urge to look at them for weeks, but finally broke down the other night. I love them! I somehow managed to control myself and only bought one, the “Vespera in Porcelain.” IRL, I’m a big fan of smoky eyes and subtle lips, and this skin does it perfectly. To finish the look, I put on the perfect-for-spring “SOL” dress, along with my Juicy “Classic Pumps in Banana.”

The last thing I love about Digit Darkes’ (yes, there’s more to love!) is their random hunts. Every once in awhile for an hour, the store will mark down one item to 1L and one item to 100L. This has helped me fill my inventory with Digit Darkes’ goodness, without completely breaking my sad little Phil’s Money account. On one of the last hunts, this gorgeous ballroom skirt was marked down to 100L. I paired the skirt with the tube from the “Digit’all Tracks Suit” for a fun take on formal wear.

If by some chance you haven’t visited Digit Darkes’, DO IT NOW! Also, click their Subscribe-O-Matic to keep up to date on the hunts and new releases. And, if you have one of your 25 groups to spare, join the Digit Darkes’ Devotees Group for even more yumminess.

Best and Worst of the Week

Posted by tiffergg on April 26, 2008

Here we are at another end of a lovely SL ™ week. When I sat down to figure out what I thought was the Best in our little virtual world this week, I had no doubt about it. SALES! Yes, this week my choice for Best is all of the amazing sales going on!

This outfit is my favorite I picked up from the Kyoot Army 100L Sale. I must admit, I had never been there. But, when I heard everything was only 100L, I figured it was worth a look. This set is called “Denial of Autumn” and came with a choice of four different color tops in every layer you could want (the color I am wearing is “Warm Winter“). Other sales worth mentioning this week are Annah Couture, Pudge, Sh*t Happens (I believe only at the Lions Shore location), Bossa Nova, and Dernier Cri. With so many sales, I may actually be missing one!

That brings me to the Worst of the week. There was a clear winner, as well. My depleted Linden ™ account is the Worst. With so many sales, I spent, spent, spent, and spent some more! A girl just can’t turn down a good sale! The outfit pictured is from Annah Couture (having a sale) and is called “Allessandra.” I must say, the prim attachments on these pants are absolutely perfect, and up to the high standards of Last Call!

There you have it…the Best and Worst of the Week! Remember, this is solely my opinion! Have a great weekend!
