En vogue with VOGART

VOGART Red Jacquard Skirt

Today i was running around the beautiful Costa Rica sims with exploding volcanoes and thunderstorms and being thoroughly impressed by the quality build. I started the day dressed for cooler climes - with this stunningly rich red jacquard skirt from VOGART and the nubby tights from pochette. I tossed on a leather jacket with this camisole underneath in case it got warmer and it sure did. Costa Rica was steamy so I lost the jacket. The shoes, though, were sturdy enough for hiking through the rainforest.  All in all, a beautiful day. More photos and style notes at It’s Only Fashion.

Glitter Baby Pink Puff

Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook on May 10, 2008

Glitter Baby Pink Puff

was in a shopping mood and knew I would be trekking hither and yon and I surely did, visiting shopping centers from Portland to Milan to Mumbai to Tokyo and ports in between. A girl’s gotta be comfortable when hopping around like that, especially walking from one end of a sim the other to make sure not to miss the little boutiques with great craft, originality and no land description. Paper Couture’s silk wrapped low heels are perfect shoes for long walks, the heels comfortably low, but still fashionably chic.

And then….I could not resist putting on some of my purchases as I went along. First up, I found this lovely purple blouse @ Emery. It comes with black slacks, but then I went to Callie Cline’s store and noticed for the first time that there is an upstairs…and found these pants so aptly named Glitter Baby Pink Puff. ooh baby, it’s a plaid world

Inventory cleaning time!!! It’s a dirty job but we all have to do it.  And it’s best we dress for the work at hand, something rugged that can stand up the heavy lifting and flying dustballs of inventory cleaning. Okay, okay, none of that is true, I just wanted to wear my Cordovan Boots.  I love their clean but rugged good looks. From Five Minutes After - they are a steal @ 230 Lindens. Much less than your average boot - while as detailed and better fitting than most. More info and photos @ It’s Only Fashion

What Coco Said

Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook on May 8, 2008

Close Picture of Rosaly and Hat

Coco Chanel once said, “it’s best to be as pretty as possible for destiny.”  Well, I probably don’t have a date with destiny today, but I like the idea of always looking your best because any day could change your destiny and why not look the part.

Okay, I confess the hat is a bit much. I wouldn’t wear it in real life because it would knock people in the head on the bus…but I would like to. I might not even mind banging people in the head with it. But isn’t it pretty? Isn’t it timeless? It could have been worn by Emma or Eliza Doolittle. It’s one of those sweeping romantic picture hats that serve to highlight the fragility of the female neck and the romance of female eyes. It’s not about the weather, it’s about the wearer. Shiny Shiny Tint Tint

Shiny Shiny Magic Pants

by Cajsa Lilliehook

In the mood to explore, i knew I wanted some comfortable pants - sexy comfortable pants, of course. This outfit started around the oh-so-hot Shiny Shiny Magic Pants from Fashionably Dead. Their stretchy shiny lycra is made for sexy comfort. These are pants you can tint in Edit Appearance mode to any shade you desire.  If you go to pick up a pair, use patience scrolling through the vendors. It’s in there.

I paired it with a top from the Zurie pants outfit from Seasons, an outfit i purchased because I loved the top, intending from the beginning to wear the top with other pants. I love the retro sensibility of the top and its bold colors. However, I would rather not wear a belly-baring top while exploring so i added the white sash from the Persona fat back of sashes on the jacket layer and then tinted it in Appearance mode as well. I highly recommend picking up the fat pack - an inexpensive wardrobe enhancer that you will never regret.

This gave the me idea of exploring the tremendous versatility of color-changing purchases in putting this outfit together.  All in all, this outfit includes 4 tinted items, 1 color-change and 1 texture change item. For more info on the outfit, go to It’s Only Fashion.

Chrome: Not Just for Cars Anymore

Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook on May 6, 2008

Chrome Mini in Purple

Sometimes I pick an outfit to suit my mood or what I plan on doing, but the most fun is putting on an outfit because it’s NEW NEW NEW and this is my newest dress, the recently release Chrome in Purple from Tres Jolie. A rich purple chrome finish catches the eye and continuing the metallic them, designer Iota Ultsch made the skirt move like metal, swinging instead of flowing. It’s a sassy movement and a sassy dress.

Starry Night Romance

Lady Thera's Van Gogh Starry Night

If you don’t know Lady Thera Taurog’s work, you are in for a treat. Taking inspiration from great artist like Van Gogh, as in this dress, but also Monet, Cezanne, Magritte and Kandisky to name just a few, Lady Thera creates incredible fabrics by reimagining some of their great works. A lesser artist might clone stamp selections of the original art, but if you look at this dress or any of her others, you can see that she recreates the work - in new and beautiful homages to the original.

Back view of leaf green dress

Oh yes, it’s one of the sunny spring days that are all too rare in the rainy Northwest. The sun is shining, the windows are open and all is well with the world. Clearly, my clothes have to reflect that general sense of well-being that comes from a day  like today. So what could be a better choice that a fresh leaf green, the color of the new leaves opening on the birches. More info and style notes @ It’s Only Fashion.

Polka Dotty All Over

Posted by Cajsa Lilliehook on May 3, 2008

Polka Dots

Polka dots are such fresh and lively prints. Just putting on one polka dot item will wake you up almost as much as a cappuccino, but imagine the effect of layering polka dots on polka dots with your accessories. In this outfit, I even feel ready to tackle my laundry.

This starts with one of the several freebie tops in Baiatrice’s April Free Gift (still there if you hurry.)  However, I am not fond of kneepants - especially golfing style knee pants, so i add the lovely Developer pants from Digit Darkes. Honestly, these pants are so richly textured, that you might find yourself stroking your monitor. To top it off, I added one of the indispensable Helena sashes from Persona - a massive fat pack of jacket layer sashes that you can wear with hundreds of outfits.

For a photo of the accessories and style notes, you can read the rest here.
